Sunnyside, es el nombre del barrio de Queens, NYC, donde desde 1977 se encuentra Thalia Spanish Theatre. Primero bajo la dirección de la entrañable Silvio Britto; desde 2000 bajo mi dirección artística y cultural.
Durante éste medio siglo, hemos participado en el crecimiento de este magnífico vecindario, cada día más importante para la Ciudad de New York.
Sunnyside fue fundado a finales del Siglo 19 por inmigrantes de origen francés. Luego atrajo inmigrantes irlandeses.
Igual que Nueva York metropolitano, Sunnyside ha vivido una profunda transformación, nutriéndose de la energía inmigrantes de todo el mundo.
Hoy día Sunnyside se enorgullece en ser uno de lps sitios más diversos del planeta. Ello significa, gastronomía, comercio, cultura, arte, diversidad. Todo ésto a solo 10 minutos de Manhattan. Y 30 minutos del aeropuerto internacional La Guardia.

Sunnyside is the name of the neighborhood in Queens, NYC, where the Thalia Spanish Theater has been located since 1977. First under the artistic direction of the late Silvio Britto (whom we’ll forever miss); since 2000 under my leadership.
Over the course of this half century, we have participated in the growth of this vibrant neighborhood, of vital importance to New York City.
Sunnyside was founded in the late 19th century by immigrants of French origin. And then came the Irish immigrats.
As with metropolitan New York, Sunnyside has undergone a momentous transformation, drawing on the energy of immigrants from around the world.
Today Sunnyside takes pride on being of the most diverse places on the planet. This means gastronomy, commerce, culture, art, diversity. Not to mention the view into the East Side of Manhattan.
All this just 10 minutes from Manhattan. And 30 minutes from La Guardia International Airport.
